Egyptian Shaduf STEM Challenge
19th Mar 2024
Primary 5 and 6 were engineers for the afternoon! After learning how the farmers in ancient Egypt grew crops and irrigated their land, their task was to design and construct a shaduf to lift water out of the River Nile. The children demonstrated great teamwork and excellent problem-solving skills throughout the activity and had fun testing their models. They evaluated their shadufs using an assessment grid and suggested ways in which they could improve their designs. Definitely some future engineers in Primary 5 and 6!
