The mummification process is complete and, as promised, Primary 5 and 6 are sharing their results! For the past 6 weeks, the children have weighed and made observations on their control tomato and the mummified tomatoes. The natron mixture dehydrated the tomatoes and they weighed less and less each week. Not only new learning of scientific concepts but lots of mental maths, subtracting decimal fractions to work out the weight difference each week.
