Mummifying Tomatoes
7th May 2024
Inspired by their recent visit to the Ulster Museum and meeting Takabuti, Primary 5 and 6 have been learning about the mummification process in Ancient Egypt. They decided to carry out a scientific investigation to find out if a natron mixture could mummify a tomato. The embalmers got to work this afternoon, following the same process the Ancient Egyptians used to mummify a body. They will weigh their tomatoes every week and record the results to see if the natron mixture is dehydrating the tomatoes and therefore mummifying them! We will keep you posted with the results!
