🕷 The Spider Who Saved Christmas 🕸

19th Dec 2024

Continuing on from the Nativity Story, the children in Primary 5 and 6 really enjoyed listening to the legend of the spider who saved Christmas. The children learned how some countries in Eastern Europe have a tradition of placing spider ornaments on Christmas trees to commemorate Nephila, the special spider who saved the baby Jesus from King Herod’s soldiers. Of course, the children had to make their own sparkling spider decorations for their trees at home. If you happen to visit a P5 or 6 house over Christmas and spot a spider on the Christmas tree, get one of the children to tell you the magical story of Nephila! Beautiful work, boys and girls! Well done!
